The Tech Center is going to begin ‘Dual Enrollment for the Trades.’ We have selected 13 students from the Building Trades 1 program, based on attendance, grades, and overall performance to be the inaugural class for this collaboration. The dual enrollment benefit of this program is that seniors will earn high school credit toward graduation and hours toward the apprenticeship. It is fully funded, through the partnership between the Tech Center and the Wayland Joint Apprenticeship Training Center (JATC), with no tuition/book costs to students. The students are also paid for their time at the worksite. Upon high school graduation, students will remain in the program and become a registered apprentice through the U.S. Department of Labor.
