From our Adult Education Director...Evy Houser


The Allegan Tech Center Adult Career is having an exceptional year. With the help of our Career Navigator, partnerships with the Allegan Adult Education, Plainwell Adult Education, West Michigan Works, and the community at large, our enrollment continues to grow. Adults are looking for additional training and are exploring the trades as a lucrative next step. Pictured here is our night machining instructor, Jamie Miller, with student, Dustin Zeran.

In response to the growing field of Information Technology, we have added a series of Information Technology Courses: Device and Configuration Management, Networking, and Networking Security. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the career field of Information Technologies is expected to grow 15% over the next 10 years resulting in 682,800 new jobs. Students completing these courses can take certification tests here at the Tech Center to become IT Specialists.

Another new course that is in the works is Culinary Arts for Adults. Whether you are interested in improving your cooking skills or desire a career in Culinary and Hospitality, check us out! The employment of chefs and head cooks is projected to grow 15% from 2021 to 2031 according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.
